Palestinian Christians

Today at church we had a Palestinian Christian as our guest.  Not only is he a Christian, but he is the founder and president of a Seminary in Bethlehem - spurred to act after seeing christians dwindle from 20% of the population to 2%, and seeing so many called to the ministry with nowhere to go but America…where they stayed.  Sadly, his kind has been considered an insignificant segment of the Kingdom of God by the west and America…all this while we (the American Church) pour considerable resources into Israel  and seeing Jews come to Christ, as well as, hoping for an end to all the conflict and violence in the middle east.  As Bob Roberts (my pastor….passionate, humble, courageous) asks rhetorically, “God love the Jews?  Amen!  God loves America?  Amen!  God loves the Palestinians?  Amen!  We want the violence to end and for peace to reign in that region of the world.  The ONLY hope for that is Jesus!

If that’s the hope, to see peace among Jews and Muslims, through Jesus Christ, then as Bob said, “who is better positioned than the Palestinian Christians to see that through?”  They are well respected by their Muslim neighbors, speak the language, and have a burden to see them transformed by Christ.  Get involved, pray, and act so that we can see it happen and not be guilty of continuing to damn them by our policies and indifference to their significance in God’s Kingdom.
